In Sattal, we will be based in a private birding camp with splendid and spacious establishment, amidst the thick forests. It is peculiarly situated in close proximity to some of the best birding hot spots in the region, offering you a chance to connect with nature. Here, we can expect to see over a 100 species of birds and other wildlife.

People venture out towards the magnificent Himalayas for several reasons. Some aspire to conquer them, some seek salvation amidst their grandeur while some simply want to be free of the hustle and bustle of the metropolis. India bird photography trip: Chopta

The Chopta Hill station is at 2700 mts, in the Rudraprayag District of Uttarakhand State, surrounded by dense forests. It offers a superb view of Snow Clad Himalayan Ranges and lush green meadows. Chopta is also referred to as “Mini Switzerland”.

Chopta is a beautiful trekking destination that not only attracts people from India but also many foreign trekkers. The Chopta region has many treks and trails cutting through jungles and grasslands. Due to the abundance of the birds there, Chopta has ecome a popular destination for the tourists for bird watching. Deoria Tal is a very famous lake that is surrounded entirely by forests on all sides. The trek to the Deoria Tal is truly worth it.Chopta in the Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary provides some excellent winter and spring birding, and fantastic landscapes. A mix of pine and deodar forest with rhododendrons, amidst lush ‘bugyals’ or grassy meadows, it is probably the best and most easily accessible place in India to see the stunning ‘ninecolored’ state bird of Uttarakhand, the Himalayan Monal. That alone would be worth the long drive, but the area has much more to offer.

About Sattal Birding Camp

This is a very famous property for Indian bird photography among birders who visit Sattal. All the famous birders and photographers who are Birding or wildlife photography enthusiasts have visited our property for best of results. It is said that a photo tour to Sattal is not complete if one has not visited IBC. Our Staff Is trained in such a way that they understand the requirements of birders and make sure they are ready to serve each of our guests at every turn. IBC is nestled among lush green oak tree forest, and most of the birds nest inside our campus during the nesting season. There are at least 5 species of owls inside the property, all the Photos of mountain Scops owls are taken inside IBC Campus. We also have a resident Big Owl, the Brown Wood Owl, which breeds every year and gives very good opportunities for watching them in the wild. IBC is in the heart of Sattal and near to all the hot birding spots in Sattal, we have the best-trained Naturalists to accompany you on your birding.

India bird photography trip itinerary:

Day 1, Pickup From New Delhi Airport and start of the India bird photography trip. Almost 7 Hours drive to Sattal on mostly highway/ nice roads. You will be checked into Eco resort, Incredible Birding Camp. Depending upon the arrival time, we can decide on the evening session this day; otherwise, after briefing with the tour leader and local staff, we will call it a day. Next Day Alarm 5 AM.

Day 2, We will get up early and get ready for our first morning birding session of the India bird photography trip. In the Himalayas we will walk to a nearby bird photography hide and spend around 4-5 morning hours in the hide. We will shoot almost 20-25 Himalayan species on our first birding session. We will get back to the resort for breakfast and lunch, and can do some birding inside the property before our evening session on another hide, which is a further 30-minute drive and 10 minutes walk in the forest.

Day 3, We will do our morning session birding of this india bird photography trip in Shyamkhet today. Morning and Evening we will drive to a riverbed Chafi for different species of Himalayan river stream birds, owls etc. after parking our car, we have to walk on the riverbed/ road/ trail for birding in this session.

Day 4, This Morning of the india bird photography trip we will explore the forest of Sattal, we will explore some birding trails, and then we will do some birding in the famous birding studio of Sattal it is a completely natural place no hide or feeding is there. Then, after breakfast, we will drive to Chopta, Birding On The Way.

Day 5, We will do a trek to Tungnath for rare species, especially Snow partridge, Monal, Bearded Vulture, Golden Eagle etc. In the evening, we will do birding at the famous Monal point.

Day 6, We will explore different birding areas of Chopta Kedarnath wildlife sanctuary.

Day 7, We will explore different birding areas of Chopta Kedarnath wildlife sanctuary.

Day 8, Drive to Ranikhet, We will be Birding On the Way this Day.

Day 9, Morning Birding In Ranikhet & Drive to Sattal.

Day 10, Morning Birding In Sattal and Drive to Delhi.
